About
Hi I am Emily! By day I’m a structural bridge engineer working on the infrastructure that keeps New York City moving. By night (and weekends, and lunch breaks), I’m exploring the city through its food.
I’ve always believed that food is one of the best ways to understand a place and its people. Living and working in NYC gives me endless opportunities to do just that—whether I’m wandering through Manhattan, Brooklyn, or any of the other boroughs in search of my next great bite. I’m especially drawn to hidden gems: small, authentic spots that are deeply connected to the culture behind the cuisine.
My personal favorites? Sushi and ramen, Japanese and Thai food, and all kinds of dumplings the cozier and more authentic, the better.
What you will find on Emily’s Petite Palate
This blog is my way of sharing the restaurants I genuinely love with the people around me friends, family, coworkers, and fellow food lovers.
Here, you’ll find:
- Honest restaurant reviews from someone who truly eats out a lot
- Hidden gems and under-the-radar spots you might otherwise miss
- A focus on authenticity, flavor, and cultural roots
- Recommendations you can trust—whether it’s for a casual lunch, a comfort-food craving, or a special night out
I’m not chasing trends or hype for the sake of it. I care about great food, thoughtful preparation, and places that tell a story.
